1 Chronicles 16:23-27
Sing to God, everyone and everything! Get out his salvation news every day! Publish his glory among the godless nations, his wonders to all races and religions. And why? Because God is great—well worth praising! No god or goddess comes close in honor. All the popular gods are stuff and nonsense, but God made the cosmos! Splendor and majesty flow out of him, strength and joy fill his place.
Several years ago during a prayer meeting someone prayed and spoke to my heart concerning my ministry of writing. She looked at me and said, “Your writing will touch the nations!” I won’t lie I was excited yet I did not fully believe it could ever happen. I mean I heard of stories of people who were not well known or coming from wreckages of life making a huge impact on the world, but really God, are you going to use me? I guess I just could not comprehend just how great our God is. I think we limit God and forget how mighty He really can be. We never fully believe He is the God of the universe and the reason for everything which happens on earth and in heaven.
A few months ago I stumbled upon this cool little map here on WordPress and it shows you where your blog has gone throughout the world. I was quite impressed with all the shaded areas on my little picture of the world. I was so excited to see that I actually was touching nations. For you see when this prayer was said over my life, I figured I needed to pack my bags at some point because I was going to be doing ALOT of traveling if I was going to touch many nations. Instead God has chosen to use this fancy process we now have called the internet to allow me to touch nations without even leaving the comfort of my PJs!!!
I had to laugh a little this morning as I decided to count just how many nations my blog has reached since February 2012. When I arrived at the number 101 I was just staring at the computer screen in awe of what God has done using me. I actually feel quite honored to be used by God. My prayer when I first started writing was simple…if I could just touch one heart with my writing I would be satisfied. God knew my prayer was too small so He chose to bless me more than I could ever expect!
Are you designed to touch nations? Is your prayer too small? Are you willing to allow God to take you to the nations? If so, I encourage you to just thank Him now for the mighty work He is about to do in your life. Begin to believe that He can use you right now and right where you are. I find myself now more willing to write and share what God lays on my heart because I feel like He trusts me now and He believes in me no matter what others think or say. Go! Go touch nations for Jesus! Be carriers of the Good News in the way that you know best!!!!
Brenda, our words on our blogs and also social sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn reach thousands of people around the world! Isn’t it wonderful to be a keyboard missionary! To encourage other members of our Christian Poets & Writers group on FB to get a larger vision of themselves and their work, too, I’ll highlight your post on the Christian Poets & Writers blog – http://christianpoetsandwriters.blogspot.com. God bless.
