“The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They’re full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don’t fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this: Our Father in heaven, Reveal who you are. Set the world right; Do what’s best— as above, so below. Keep us alive with three square meals. Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others. Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil. You’re in charge! You can do anything you want! You’re ablaze in beauty! Yes. Yes. Yes.
Ever meet someone who you just think is the greatest only to become disappointed later? Often as humans, we put people on pedestals and then wonder why they fall at some point. We set standards for certain individuals that they may never attain. Perhaps we even get jealous of who they are or the position they have until we finally get the revelation that they are just as human as we are.
Why do we do that? It’s hard enough living up to our own expectations let alone the higher ones of those around us. There are times when I devalue my life so much I often wonder why I bother to blog or work on my books. I sometimes get so discouraged that I just want to give up and then suddenly I will get a word of encouragement from someone and it keeps me going. I guess my point in all of this is simple, we only have one standard to meet and that’s Gods.
The Bible says clearly in Romans 3:23 that we ALL fall short of the glory and thank goodness for grace! What this simply means is that we are all in the same race just with different talents and gifts. We all have the same mission, to seek the lost and share the Good News with them. Why do we make something that is so simple, so very difficult?
The beauty of God can work miracles in the lives around us if we only learn to surrender to what He has in store for us. If we allow Him to connect the dots and turn our scars into beauty marks then we can’t take any of the credit. Once we begin to see that the beauty of what God does in a persons life lasts longer than any temporary fix we can get, we begin to see that without God we are empty vessels without purpose. Once we choose to let God do all the work, our life becomes a resemblance of Jesus.
Is it time to start pinching bodies? I mean just to see who is real and who’s not. If God is working in a persons life the beauty just emanates from them in the way they act and talk. When someone is really just out for their own glory, the beauty fades. People grow tired of empty promises and watching people fail. Lasting beauty requires commitment and I know that I know that I know, God is for you and will provide every inner beauty treatment you will ever need.
