“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” Psalm 119:105 NLT
Well, been awhile I know since my last blog and let me tell you ALOT has been happening and I thought I would just take a moment or two to bring us all up to speed. I am getting married as most of you know and there are only 21 days left to do one million two hundred and thirty five things. I find each day something new God wants to show me and I then I intend on blogging, but….well….
Here are some things of encouragement that I have discovered. One: Surrender equals God’s Perfect Will. Take for instance our wedding rings. John prayed for rings and two days later, he was given one..yes GIVEN..real diamonds and everything. Then the ring I was suppose to purchase was sold before I had the funds, I prayed…yup got handed a diamond men’s wedding ring. Two: God knows the plans He has for you. My example for this one, the date. We set a date and everything kept hindering us having it on that date. We surrendered, listened to God and choose the date we heard….once again God’s perfect date. First of all we found out that we became Facebook friends on December 7, 2011 an exact year from our now wedding date of December 7th, 2012.
Three: He always provides even when we have no clue how He is going to do it. After we set the date within a few days we knew it was the right date. John’s close friend had put his engagement up for sale on an online selling location and ended up giving it away in exchange for our photography for the wedding. And icing to that piece is that the young man who needed the ring was a former youth student of mine whom I had been praying for.
Four: He gives us the desires of our hearts. We had decided that we did not want a traditional wedding and we were not under any circumstances going to walk down a center isle. As we are part of the revival here, we had already decided we were having a revival wedding, however the only catch was that we did not have a church we were meeting in. I really had no desire to get married in a flea market building and low and behold, we partnered with a local church which is just beautiful….and no center isle at all.
I could go on with the two million other blessings in this wedding, however I don’t think there are enough words to describe what God is doing in our lives right now. My point in all of this is that when you are walking in right step with God, He provides everything you need right down to the purple paper wedding bells for less than $2. I am honored to be a daughter of the King and in 20 days (its after midnight now) I will be marrying a man who was hand picked by God to be my husband. I have never been loved so realistically ever in my life. John goes to God for everything and only does what He hears from the Father. Our relationship is truly based on the fact that our steps are already ordered and we are just being obedient to His Will.
