Definition of WATER

1a : the liquid that descends from the clouds as rain, forms streams, lakes, and seas, and is a major constituent of all living matter and that when pure is an odorless, tasteless, very slightly compressible liquid oxide of hydrogen H2O which appears bluish in thick layers, freezes at 0° C and boils at 100° C, has a maximum density at 4° C and a high specific heat, is feebly ionized to hydrogen and hydroxyl ions, and is a poor conductor of electricity and a good solvent
Living water?  Some are confused by this very thing.  We know our scientific answers to both living and water, however if we take a closer look and begin to believe God desires to shower us with Living Water, maybe some of the stresses of life will begin to dissipate.  God wants us to be vibrant, carefree Christians.  He enjoys seeing us happy and content with the things He has provided for us.  If only more of us would drink in that Living Water we could move to the next level of things God has for us.  Let’s take a look at the word living and make it about God.
The first part of the definition says it has life and it is active.  Well, God created life and is very active in our lives.   Then it says exhibiting life and nature, isn’t God evident no matter where you go?  He is in everything for He is the creator of it all.  The last few parts of the definition all sort of fit together for His purposes as well.  God is full of life and as we begin to dwell in Him, we as living persons can begin to feel His presence and start to speak about it to others.  Living is something we do, yet it is also something spiritual.  We can choose to live this life as the world dictates for us or we can begin to live spiritually and grow in the things of God, surpassing the expectations of this world.
Now let’s look at water.  The definition is clearly scientific but do we not call for the RAIN to fall from heaven and wash over us?  Do we not preach about being caught up in the river?  When God rains down upon us we are drenched in His goodness and as we gather together in His love, we can feel our souls begin to just float down the stream of Heaven into that River of Love God has prepared us for.
Living Waters is where I want to dwell. I no longer want to be bogged down in the sandpits of this world.  I want to just float in His love from now until Jesus returns to take us home.  Trusting in God to take of our needs is where it all begins.  If we continue to try to do God’s work, we will be standing on the shore building sand castles only to have them destroyed by the rushing water.  Would it not be a great existence if we just trusted God to take us where we need to go?  God is calling you to rest in His Living Waters, are you ready to let go and let Him carry you down the river in His love?
