In the Palm

“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

During this time of uncertainty I have been reading Psalm 91. There is so much comfort in that one chapter of scripture. We are sheltered. We are protected. We find in the chapter a healthy dose of who God is.

Today as I was writing the word Psalm, I forgot the letter “s”. In my mistake I had to write the “s” much smaller and tucked under the “P”. All of a sudden I saw a word picture.

The “s” stood for self which left the word “palm.” I realized that as we are being sheltered under His wings we are also in the palm of His hand. What a comforting thought!!

No matter what happens in the coming days I can rest assured because the God who created the universe holds me in the palm of His hand. Because of this I can sing “It is well with my soul.” I can throw fear to the side and full fledge run into the things God had planned for me.

In a time of panic we need to be free to move about the earth without being chained down with fear. Yes we need to be diligent and follow the rules laid out for us to obey to keep us safe, but the freedom I am talking about is the absence of fear. God is still in control. He is not surprised. He has a plan. It is our job to trust. To believe. To pray. To be at peace in every circumstance.

If we could all get a revelation of the truth of Psalm 91 the fear would disappear like fog as soon as the sun comes out.

As a child of God, I might live in the same world, but I am not of this world, and will not give into the worldly fears and worldly panic because God has me protected in the heavenly spiritual realm of safety from all and any harm.
